Seal A Deck

If you like to relax on your deck, you want to make sure it's in good repair. Well I have some tips to help out.

1. Sweep the deck regularly to clean away surface dirt.

2. Use a hose and a high-pressure nozzle or pressure washer to clean away all the dirt and debris.

3. Pry leaves from between the boards with a putty knife.

4. Once your deck is clean it's time to seal it.

5. But check your sealer to see if you can use it right after you wash your deck or if you need to let it dry.

6. Use a pump sprayer to apply the sealer. Start with any rails and benches and move your way down to the deck floor. The sprayer will give you a nice even coverage and easily reaches into tight spots. Then use a paint pad for back brushing to even out the finish.
