Replace Washer Hoses

If your washing machine hose has sprung a leak, don't panic it's an easy fix!

1. Unplug the washing machine and turn off the water supply. Unscrew the hoses from the washer and the water source.

2. It's a good idea to take the hoses with you to the store so you're sure the replacements will be the right type and size. You may as well replace both the hot and cold hoses so you don't have to worry about this happening again anytime soon.

3. While you have the washer all unhooked it's not a bad idea to clean the back of the washer. A cloth dipped in white vinegar should clean away any corrosion and build-up. An old toothbrush will tackle any tight spots.

4. Remove the small sediment screens in the inlet valves and soak them in a bowl of white vinegar to clean away build-up.

5. Attach the new hoses to the water inlet valves and the water supply. Turn on the hot and cold water supply. At this point you should be able to see if there are any leaks at the connections, if there are just tighten them up.

6. Plug the machine back in and you're done!
