Clean it-up "around the house"

Plastic Care

Plastic comes in handy all over the house. It's sturdy and easy to clean. Unfortunately, sometimes you can run into some problems. Here are some easy solutions.

1. To prevent stains on plastic utensils, all you have to do is wipe them with some olive oil or spray on some non-stick cooking spray. This will keep the stains off your plastic. This also works great for storage containers.

2. If your plastic cooler smells, just crumple up some newspapers and stick them in there overnight. The paper will absorb the odors and in the morning you can just throw them away.

3. If your child left milk sitting in his thermos and you don't think you'll ever get rid of that odor, just fill it with hot water and throw in a tablespoon of baking soda and a tablespoon of white vinegar. Put the top back on and let it sit overnight. In the morning just rinse it out and the smell will be gone!

4. If your plastic scraper has seen better days, just trim the worn edges off and it will be as good as new.
