Easy Ways to Measure

Getting the correct measurements is important for any project, but it can get frustrating. Here are some easy ways to make measuring a snap!

1. If you need to measure a small amount of a liquid use a medicine dosage cup, the increments are marked the same as measuring spoons, but they won't spill all over!

2. If you're using your measuring tape, put a small sticky pad on the side of it. It will stay where you need it while you're making your notes, and peels off easily so you're ready for the next one!

3. If you have to place nails a certain distance apart and don't want to keep pulling out the measuring tape, mark the increments on your hammer handle with rubberbands. You can just hold the handle against the wall so you know where the next nail goes! No more fumbling around wishing you had another hand.

4. Measure your foot. If you know how long that it, it's easy to approximate a distance. Walk toe to heel, make a note of the number of steps it took and multiply it by the length of your foot.

Independent contractor fraud can be a serious problem in the construction industry unfortunately. An independent contractor is a person who is licensed to independently perform certain kinds of work.
