Drain Deodorizers

Drains all over your house can develop some bad odors. Here are some easy ways to get rid of them and prevent them from coming back.

1. To freshen and deodorize your drain in one step, pour half a cup of chlorine bleach down the drain. Let it sit for a few minutes, and flush the drain with some very hot water. Be careful not to splash so there is no chance of bleach ending up on you.

2. If you want to freshen up that drain, pour half a cup of baking soda into the drain. Then pour at least three cups of boiling water over it.

3. If your bathroom sink still isn't smelling very fresh, the problem may be your drain stopper. These sit in the drain and can get dirty and mildewy, giving off a bad smell. Pull it out of the drain and soak it in a solution of bleach and water for a half an hour. Then rinse it off, and if it is really bad, try scrubbing it with an old toothbrush.
