Ideas for Swimming Pool Designs

With so many swimming pool designs to choose from, how can you ever make a decision on which one will be best for you? Unlike other remodeling projects in your home, the shape of your pool needs to be chosen carefully as it can not be easily undone. Based on your space, your style, and your budget, there are different swimming pool designs for different homeowners.

Your choice in swimming pool designs begins with looking at the space you have. If you have a particular yard shape or limiting factors (trees, for example), you need to measure the space that will be left for a pool installation. Try to find a space that’s as level as possible as well as free of rocks and debris. If you have a smaller space to work with, you can always choose a shape that ‘fits’ into the smaller space, while still allowing you to have the pool that you’ve always wanted. In a larger yard, you might want to designate just one part of the area for your pool, rather than trying to install a larger pool to fit into the space.

Swimming Pool Designs

The style of your outside décor will also factor into your choice in swimming pool designs. If you’re looking to create a certain look, the pool can help you bring together you design ideas. For example, a tropical pool setting might fare better with a kidney shaped pool that has waterfalls on the edges. You might want a small round pool if you simply want somewhere for the kids to play. A larger and longer pool is good if you’re creating a workout area. For a whimsical look, you might want to choose a star shape or a square shape or even something more daring to help add a bold look to your backyard.

Your budget is another important factor to consider when looking at swimming pool designs. While a more unique shape might suit your design ideas, it can also be more expensive to install. Try to look at the basic pool designs first to see if there are any that will work for your needs, but if you simply must have an irregular shape, realize that it will cost you more to have this look.

Pools naturally create a lot of evaporation and moisture, and ventilation keeps the air and surrounding area dry and healthy.

Chlorine and Salt Water Swimming Pool Maintenance

In Florida, there are salt water swimming pools that actually draw water from the sea. But for most, salt water swimming pool maintenance has nothing to do with maintaining sea water. Salt water pools have a small amount of salt in the water and a chlorine generator makes chlorine using the salt. Maintenance of these types of pools is generally easier than standard pool maintenance.
