Do You Need an
Attic Ladder?
If you need access to your attic, an attic ladder might be the
perfect solution. However, this is not the best fit for everyone.
Before you make your choice, try to determine how often you will
need to go into the attic as well as the space you have for the
ladder itself. In some cases, you may find that stairs are actually
a better choice. An attic ladder can help you add more accessibility
to your home, but only if you take some time deciding on the best
one for you.
But the question remains: do you need an attic ladder? If you find
that you’re going to use your attic to store things from your home,
you will need to find a way to get up into that area. And if you
don’t have to access these items on a daily basis (i.e. seasonal
clothing), a ladder is just enough access to help you out without
getting in the way of the rest of the house. A ladder will also make
it more difficult for children to get into the attic accidentally
and hurt themselves. If you find that you are going up the attic
more often or that you plan to use the attic as an extra room, a set
of stairs may be a better fit.
Attic ladder
For some, the space they have to get into their attic will determine
whether they need an attic ladder. If you have a cramped area where
the attic door is, you may just not have room for stairs,
necessitating the need for a ladder. Go to your attic space to see
just how much room you have to move around. You’ll probably know
instantly whether or not you need a ladder or something more.
If you do find that you need an attic ladder, it’s a good idea to
choose one that is sturdy enough to hold you or anyone else that
might be using it. Try to find a ladder with a strong base that can
easily balance you or look to install a ladder that will swing down
from the door leading up to your attic. Either one of these options
should be hard for younger children to access. |

Thinking
About Starting an Attic Renovation?
If you are thinking about an attic renovation you are among
the many homeowners who want to expand the usable space in
their home. Renovating an attic is especially popular in older
homes, where attics are much more common than in newer home
designs. Another reason why attics are attractive remodeling
projects is that the basement area of many older homes is not
suitable for such a project, causing the homeowner to turn
upward for more options.

Garage Conversions to Living Space – Making More Room!
When you need more space and are on a limited budget, you
should look at the possibilities garage conversions to living
space hold for your purposes. The advantage of using the
existing garage is that the basic framing and some of the
wiring is already done. Turning it into living space can be
done for a much more reasonable cost than if you add a new
room to the existing house.

Slipping and Sliding with Metal Stair Treds
Most people don’t really consider all the times they climb
stairs throughout the day, because often they involve just two
or three steps. But when winter comes, even one stair step can
be treacherous. Metal stair treds are durable and can be
purchased with a design that makes them easier to grip and
thus reduce falls.
