The Benefits of a Bathtub Soffit

When you are remodeling your bathroom, you will need to know a lot of things. One of the most important things you will need to know when you begin your bathroom remodeling adventure is how to incorporate a bathtub soffit into your new master, half, or full bathroom. Not only is a bathtub soffit useful, it adds a special degree of charm and sophistication to your bathroom.

A bathtub soffit is a gorgeous addition to any newly remodeled or already decorated bathroom. Most of these types of lighting fixtures are in the classic or traditional decoration style, though you can find some that are more contemporary. Most of the versions of the classic bathtub soffit that you will find are made of crystal – they look a lot like a smaller, flatter chandelier. The crystal in these styles of bathtub soffit do not hang like they would in a chandelier, but rather they are attached to the base of the soffit to expand the power and radiance of the light behind.

Bathtub Soffit

A bathtub soffit can also have glass sconces that are all attached to the soffit back. These look like small lamps but are all manufactured as one piece. The glass lamps are often offset by the metal backing of the soffit, which can be almost any metal, from copper to brass.

You can easily find a bathtub soffit in almost any size and shape. Most bathtub soffit designs have three or more bulbs; some soffits have as many as eight. However, the more bulbs the soffit has, the larger and longer it will be. If you have a smaller bathroom or are using the bathtub soffit in a half bathroom, you may want to consider a three or four bulb soffit rather than a six or eight bulb. Another thing to remember is that the larger the soffit, the more it will cost. Many bathtub soffit designs are quite expensive. This price goes up when you choose a soffit made of crystal rather than one made of glass.
