Deadbolt Locks

Deadbolt locks help keep your home secure and your family safe. If your door has windows on either side of the lock, replace the lock with a double cylinder deadbolt for extra security. Pick up a new deadbolt that can only be opened with a key.

1. Remove the screws that hold the lock in place and carefully pull off both sides.

2. Sand the hole so that your replacement lock will have a nice easy fit.

3. Replace the bolt plate. Make sure the bolt is in the "lock" position and secure the screws. Now fit the lock carefully into place so that the lock is snug against the door. Before you replace the screws, test the lock to make sure you aligned everything properly.

4. Put the bolt in the lock position and secure the screws. Test the lock again.
